The SilenX PSUs are probably the quietest PSUs with fans, however the Truepower is my personal favorite. You can get the Truepower 330 at Amazon for $57.99 shipped. You might be able to find a better deal since Amazon keeps upping the prices. While this PSU may not be silent, the noise that comes from it is a constant soft airflow sound that cannot be heard from more than a few feet away. It is also one of the best PSUs available overall.

Or you could just replace the fans in your existing PSU with Panaflo's or NMB's.

Sparkle psu's are good. Last I checked they were $27 for a 300w. More for a 350w but it's WAY noisier. Had to mod the fan in mine.

Nope, just agreeing. This is exactly what I'd do.
No sense in buying a new PSU if the old one just has a loud fan, but otherwise works fine.

i'd have to agree on that fortron. a 120mm fan its the right way to go about silencing your power supply. If for some reason 25db is to much then you could probably get a quieter 120mm fan that would still push more than enough air. Also having a 57cfm fan sucking up air just above your CPU doens't hurt either.

And the fan in the Fortron is on a thermal control. I have a 350W model (w/80mm fan) and it runs the quiet fan I put in it inaudibly except under load. So I would only be able to hear the fan when gaming, but in that case the game volume drowns it out. The fan goes inaudible again with in a few seconds of closing a game.
There is also a new 350W model with a 120mm fan, but its availability is limited right now.

get fortron. true power PSU's are not silent, even at the lowest voltage (i think they go down to 5v). If the room the cpu in has a fairly loud ambient noise level, the true power will seem very quiet, but for rooms with low ambient sound levels, they quickly become the weak link in the quest for silence.

If you have a good quality PSU already, just swap the current fan for a panflo L1A and undervolt it. That will be silent (or much closer).
