Cheapest 24" or 27" monitor that can do portrait mode

My dad sent me an email asking me about a 12" wide and 24" tall monitor.

Can anybody suggest the cheapest option?

Take your pick. Nothing is exactly 12x24 - that is not a standard aspect ratio.

Right. That was my dad's request. I was thinking a 27" would be the closest to his request, but a 24" seems much cheaper.

Also, I don't think any of the cheaper (24"+ <$500) monitors in that list actually did pivot.

Pick up an aftermarket LCD stand. Normally they're much easier to pivot to portrait anyway.

why 27?
24" in portrait is pretty tall for desk use.

I have one of those monitors... and it looks ridiculous in portrait mode! I found myself bobbing my head up and down to see everything on the screen.

On the flip side, you can look at practically any web page in existence without using the vertical scroll-wheel on your mouse 🙂

Oh, and good luck finding games that support 1200x1920... not gonna happen!
