Hello everyone,

am planning to get the new sandy bridge architecture i5 2500 3.3Ghz Quad Core CPU. (Am not interested in overclocking ref: '2500k'). I've learned that the new architecture requires a 1155 pins socket. So I am looking for some very affordable compatible motherboard but from good brands such as ASUS, MSI. My budget for the Motherboard will be more or less about a $100 maybe a little more if there is no alternative but that's it, I've seen some other motherboards on the net but they are quite expensive.

Note:
The Motherboard need to be able to use the integrated GPU on the die even though i probably won't use it. Just in case i need to remove my discrete card or if some problem should arise with the card.
I'll be using a single PCI-E Graphics Card, am not interested in SLI/Crossfire

Thanks for your help and excuse the 'noobness' of my questions, am just starting to learn about these things.

The main difference between h67 and h61 is that h61 doesn't support sata 6 gb/s. There are also a couple less USB connections and pcie lanes. If you don't care about any of that, then save a few bucks and grab h61.

Gigabyte offers good support, Asus has I hear revamped wesite.
They and Biostar offer 3 year warranty.
Asrock is making a name for itself, extending one year warranty to 2 if purchased before June 30.
MSI has maybe issues resolved.
Intel basically does not try harder, so/so.
Still undecided myself.

Frys had the MSI H61 board for $65-$10MIR last week, but I think the rebate ended on 4/07. keep a watch on their ads they frequently rerun rebate deals.

H61 chipset boards would be the lowest cost boards at this time. Looking for Asus, Gigabyte or Intel boards should be able to find one that fits your needs at a reasonable cost. The Intel® Desktop Board DH61DE or DH61CR are both solid boards that should be able to fit your needs and they both come with a 3 year warranty.
