Cheaper Video Capture Software

Hi - does anyone know if there any cheaper video capture software programs similar to Pinnacle Studio or Corel Video Studio x2. Or perhaps smaller in installation size without all the extras that I do not need but have to install. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

How cheap do you want it? The standard packages are frequently promoted for between $30 and "Free After Rebate". Add another $30 if you don't have a product that qualifies for the competitive upgrade.

This week for example , Fry's is advertising Sony Vegas Movie for $30 after 2 rebates. Fry's runs a promotion on some sort of video software -- Sony, Corel, Pinnacle, Roxio -- almost every week. If you wait a few weeks, net total on this or another product will probably be less.

If you just want cheap, Magix Movie is usually the cheapest.

There's windows movie maker. Can't get much cheaper than free.

Virtual dub , probably the best there is in the free category.
Has many plugins as well .
