Cheaper alternative cut of beef for Ribeye caps? ($17/lb)

I love the ribeye cap.
the ribeye is my fav cut because of the cap.

unfortunately, ribeye caps are $17/lb.

is there a cut of beef that's similar and much cheaper?

Chuck eye is very very good. Problem is theres only 2 or at most 4 chuck eye steaks PER COW so it can be difficult to find. But it is very good.

there is nothing like a ribeye. But hanger steak has the marble. Short rib and flank steak would be other options. Of the primal cuts sirloin is the cheapest.

But if you're on a budget you can replace with pretty much anything. Chuck steak.

Yeah. Online and YouTube videos are saying people should charge $35-70 a pound for ribeye cap.

I had a very well made skirt/hanger steak at nice restaurants. Absolutely delicious and tender.

Ribeye is my #1 cut too. Skirt done right is money.

There probably are decent, and possibly even cheaper, substitutes for the eye. However, the rib eye is not as good as the cap, aka deckle, imo. There just isn't a substitute be it hanger steak, tri-tip, flank, or what have you. It is simply the best piece of beef and when it is prime it is a prime cut of the best piece of beef. There is no substitute.
