Cheap wireless speaker for your garden party

Looks neat but do you need to buy the transmitter seperately? A little hard to tell from the description. I think this might be speaker-only, in which case you need to add in the cost of the transmitter too...

the small saucer beside the speakers is the transmitter.

the small saucer beside the speakers is the transmitter.

It also holds a rechargable battery pack with AC adapter from what I could find out about it on the web.

The Sears description doesn't seem to mention this other than stating that it's battery powered.

only speakers. 🙁
----------Receiver (speaker) compatible with transmitter of MDR-RF915RK (Sears Item 94651)------------

I really think this is JUST the speaker itself...

The model on Sears page is "Sony Speaker/Receiver, Wireless, 150 ft. Range Sears item #05794651000 Mfr. model #SRS-RF90RF"

The model on Sony.com which is speaker only is "900 MHz RF Wireless Speaker SRS-RF90R"
The model on Sony.com which is speaker plus transmitter is "900 MHz RF Wireless Speaker System Receiver and Transmitter SRS-RF90RK"

Until someone has purchased this and reports back to confirm what they got in the box, I think it is invalid to assume it comes with the transmitter.

it says it's COMPATIBLE W/ MDR-RF915RK which is a transmitter for headphones... if it doesn't come with a transmitter, then what's the other little thing?

Out of stock for online ordering!

Of course, Sears made me go through the whole order process, shipping, credit card, email, etc. before checking if it was available. Dumbasses!

I sent the bastages a complaint about that. It certainly does suck that they get all your personal info and then tell you f off.

Batteries??? You can't tell me that for $2 extra they couldn't put a solar panel on the top to charge some internal AA batteries like my cheap plastic garden lights...

I want one now just to hack it and put a solar charger on it 😀

Looks like it's time to build a better mousetrap 😉
