cheap video-out solution for laptops?

Hello,
I just bought a Gateway laptop computer. I want to play media files that I record on my desktop with my ATI AIW at my cousin's house. Her computer is too slow to play the files and she doesn't have a dvd player either.
Besides, I would like the convenience of having video-out (preferable S-video, video, composite, and component options) for my laptop.
I've taken a look at ATI and Hauppauge, but their stand alone solutions are tv-in/PVR's with no video-out (as far as I can tell from browsing their sites).
I've seen one or two lesser known products such as Compro VideoMate which has video-out, but the reviewer at digit-life did not seem to try the feature (e.g. is it video-out meaning that it displays what's on the computer or video-out meaning that it shows only what's on the tv tv-tuner is receiving? Also, the site pegs the price at around $200 bucks, and I was hoping for something much cheaper.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Just get her a $30 DVD player

Thanks for the comment, but as I said...

"Besides, I would like the convenience of having video-out (preferable S-video, video, composite, and component options) for my laptop."

A standard, or even a divx dvd player doesn't play back ATI mpeg4 encoding that I get from my AIW. And even if I changed the ecoding to mpeg2 (which would take up lots of hard drive space) it's just too wasteful and too much trouble to burn tv shows that she's only going to watch once.

IF there is a USB2 video-out solution out there for $50-75, I'd rather go that route.
