Cheap Video Card?

So my computer is a bit old, but I only use it to play the occasional game. Lately i've been playing City of Heroes a lot. The game gets laggy when I have a big group playing. Would upgrading my video card help with the issue? I don't want to spend much because I don't use the system all that much.

This is what I have currently:

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1600+
Motherboard: MSI K7T266 PRO2
Video: ATI Radeon 8500LE 128MB
Memory 1 gig

I doubt it would help that much, a 1600+ is a pretty big bottleneck...even for an old 8500LE.

maybe a 9600XT or 9700Pro might do the job but even then with that CPU well I doubt that you would get any major improvements.

Whats odd is that the game used to run completely fine when I first played it a couple of years ago. I guess they have made graphical improvements since and now it gets sluggish.
