Cheap upgradeable laptop for my aging mother

Hey guys. My mom is a needing a laptop for basic web surfing and such. I don't have a big budget. Maybe 200 max. Is there an older model on ebay I might be able to find open box where I can switch in an SSD? Any recommendations would be awesome. Thx in advance.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a solid option. It’s a business laptop that’s only sold used these days, often on eBay for around $150–$200, and the RAM and SSD are easy to upgrade.

If you can stretch your budget or wait it out, I just picked up an m1 macbook air for $370 and can't imagine a better experience across the board. There was even a week left on apple care (refurb has a 90 day warranty).

Otherwise I'd suggest Lenovo's, though on refurbs battery life will be an issue.
