Never went to Rutgers but lived in Piscataway all my life. Ended up at Vassar, in Poughkeepsie. I did the whole frat row thing in highschool, so it took the fun out of Rutgers, and fraternaties in general.

I go to UT. I didn't even know you guys had a football team until yesterday! Not a horrible game though.

Werd up Scarlet Knights.

Responses to various things:

- I'm pretty sure they still have the Rutgers Club thingy. I'm going to go this Thursday to find out for sure.

- Yeah Rutgers played Tennessee tough last Saturday. 14 - 7 Rutgers lead at the half probably turned some heads around the nation. Too bad they couldn't hang on.

- Noodle Gourmet and China Bowl are the best places for Asian food in the area. Don't goto the place(s) in the student center unless yer desperate.

- Pizza City raised their prices but it's still pretty good pizza. Fat Cats and such are still $4.00.

- Wow, 90%? Never knew that, but there ARE hot girls at Rutgers.

Question: Is there an off-campus Rutgers Direct Connect hub??

thanks!

I dont think Rutgers is really well known in the corporate world. It is a second or third tier school, and a lot of my friends who graduated there have had difficulty in finding work, compared to other friends who graduated from other schools. Since you are going for a graduate degree, I suppose it doesn't really matter too much.

If you're in NJ though, it's tough to beat for the money.

Thanks MoogieBoogie! I still have a year to decide...arghhh can't make up my mind, the US, Canada, Europe, where to go, what to see, who to meet, what to study!!!! (those condom threads always bring up life decisions, don't they?! ;) )

P.S.: I'm honored your first post went to me :) Welcome to the forums!

RU alum here.

Back when I was there, Pizza City had a deal for a large pie and a liter of coke for $4, delivered (Busch). You just can't beat that, we used to have about 3 pies a week.

Noodle Gourmet owns.

Livingston Hurtado is the best, at least a few years ago. It was ALWAYS empty.

I dont think Rutgers is really well known in the corporate world.

Actually, everyone I graduated with had no problems getting jobs. They were all Mechanical Engineers, and they all went to good companies. It all depends on what you are interested in. There are only 2 or 3 schools in the country with comparable Pharmacy, Packaging Engineering, and Ceramic Engineering programs. It might not be a top 20 all around school, but some programs are top notch. I ended up going to Northwestern for grad school, so RU got me where I wanted to go.

And for all of those who are using oral contraception pills, or for those of your whose girlfriends are using OC's you can get them at the student health centers (on college ave or at livingston) for $12 bucks I think. I am not sure if you need to be seen by the docs there, but I think you should be able to walk in with any prescription from any doctor. I think the $12 deal is only for Ortho-Tri-Cyclen, being that Johnson and Johnson is right on our campus.
