I know there are tons of cheapo magazine places out there, but does anywhere offer a cheap subscription to the WSJ?

I'd appreciate it if the smart-aleck remarks could be limited. ;)

Get a real newspaper!!! (j/k ;))

Seems to me like some local girl scout troop was wanting to sell me some magazines and newspapers recently, including a fairly cheap Wall Street Journal (if cheap and WSJ ever go together). Check out that possibility.

What other options are there for a solid daily business newspaper?

The Financial Times and the Investor's Business Daily don't do it for me.

apply for the student rate. They don't check.

I like the Financial times much better than the WSJ. Never read Investor's Business Daily, any comments about that newspaper?

Student rate is the way to go. Though if you live in an apartment, make sure they put it in the mail instead of tossing it in front of your place, letting freeloaders take your paper.

IBD is very investor and stock focused. They have a nice ranking system that they use to pick stocks - it's decent. Their investor coverage is pretty good, if a bit US-centric, but their overall news coverage isn't that great. If you are very much into investing, it is definately the paper to go with, but otherwise don't bother.
