Hm, I got in on that Atlanta deal too, back in 1999 or so...

I don't smoke pot either -- but don't care if you do either...
The ladies, on the other hand .....;)
Since I love dance music (hence the name!) I really got off on some of the raves and music. Some CD's are cheaper there, and there Used CD's stores were a steal--picked up some good music.
Also you can check out some of their outdoor markerts. Yep, if you like cheese, they got some big rounds of it in the markets... Also if you need Braun Oral-B replacements for your electric toothbrush, they are at least %50 off the price here.
I was able to stay in the Doubletree *Penthouse* room for 70.00 guilder (About $40-50 then) on the weekend. If you can wait to get your hotel at the Tourist Agency when you get there, you might pick up such a deal also.
Learn the Metro well and it's cheap to get around. Otherwise it'll be more expensive (or you can try a bike).

If you get a chance -- go. You'll like it (pot or no pot!)

<< Almost a dozen pointless posts about smoking pot and not a single constructive post about beeing able to get a better fare :| . If you do know how to obtain a better price please post details in this thread, like links and/or instructions.

damn dude, if you went to amsterdam and didn't smoke some pot or hash, I would call you crazy
>>

BTW there are plenty of other "interesting" things to do in Amsterdam besides doping out, and you don't even need to work hard to find them.
Have fun traveling ya'll.

hm yes, but discussing these interesting things in this thread would risk lock:D

LOL, that sounds like something my grandmother would say. :D

and I rarely smoke myself, but even I would consider it a sin to go there without sampling some of the local treats. It would be like going to France or Italy and not eating the food or drinking the wine. But there's less chance getting drunk and getting into a fight or getting sick or falling down and hurting yourself when you smoke :p

Thanks to everyone for all the great info. I've gotta stop reading before I talk myself into going.

Might check on a flight on Delta from CVG (Cincinnati) or JFK (New York) to Brussels or maybe Frankfurt unless you're intent on going/staying in Amsterdam.

If someone is planning on taking one of these tickets and wants a snazzy but inexpensive place to stay, PM me.
