I hear the RAM is very cheap.. dirt cheap.., but when I was trying to configure SDRAM 133Mhz for Dell's Pentium III, it isn't cheap. How come they don't reflect the price drop? :|
OEMs buy their memory on long term contracts, which run for several months. The prices they get their memory at is locked down no matter what happens. The prices that we see on pricewatch and such reflects the demand for memory after the big guys have already taken their share.
but yeah if you buy a prebuilt, want more ram for cheap, but not afraid of cracking open the case, just buy more memory from elsewhere and install it yourself.
