Just a quick post about my OCing results using the G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ RAM (red heat spreaders). Maybe others can add their OCing experience with other inexpensive sets....

This Ram has been one of the the cheapest sets of 2GB DDR2 800 on the market for a while.

Running my e6300 on a Gigabyte 965P-S3 with F6 Bios dual Prime95 stable for 8+ hours
at the following settings:

470 FSB @ 5-5-5-15
DDR2 940
2.1v vDimm

for a core clock of 3.29 Ghz

strangely at vDimm settings higher than 2.1v with these same timings the system would crash after a couple of seconds of SuperPi

updating from F5 to F6 bios gave me about a 25 point increase on FSB speed

Not bad at all.

Since it's not responsive to voltage, i'd guess it's Elpida.

Either way though, not too terrible results for value RAM.

there is a really good review of inexpensive ram on the home page of this site - well worth the read.
