Cheap place to stay in LA

The closer to PCH, the better, for convenience's sake.

I intend to spend about 2 weeks there in a few months, and I'm starting to bang out the travel plans already. I do have a friend over there whose apartment I could crash at, but it's her, her parents, and her twin siblings in a 2-bedroom apartment. They've invited me to stay there and insist that they can make room, but I don't want to put them through that. Lord knows I'll be spending enough time there anyway.

Downtown = OMGWTFCOMMUTE. I'm there to visit a friend in the ghetto and help establish the west coast branch of WingCorp Custom Computers [in Torrance off PCH, doubling up office space with a freelance pornographer/web designer/webpornographer], not schmooze with the rich people.

I dunno but there are a ton of hotels right on PCH around Manhattan Beach. A lot of them look fairly *reasonable*. Be careful where it is tho. If its too cheap you're getting into some seedy neighborhoods. Definitely run them by your girl so you don't end up in a cheap dive.

Yeah. That's a given.

Just to be a bit more specific, my future office is near PCH and Hawthorne Blvd (Head south a little bit from the Del Amo fashion center, past Torrance Municipal Airport, cross PCH, and turn left and you're there). Her apartment is a few blocks from the eastern edge of that same airport.

hmmm... a decently priced place (imho) is the Holiday Inn on Vermont Ave... been up to a room there, it's pretty nice, my roommate's mom works for that company, so maybe i'm a bit biased, but i thought it was a cool spot...

there's also a Hilton i believe on Hawthorne / Torrance Blvds which looks quite nice too...

there's a couple of little places on PCH near Torrance Blvd too, tho i can't remember the names of any of the places right now...
