Cheap place to develop 30 rolls of film

My parents went overseas and took 30 rolls of pictures. They are looking for the best quality at the cheapest price to have single copy 4x6 prints made up. They don't need any photos on the web or on cd. They are simple.

Any recommendations?

Cheap and best quality don't belong together... especially for something like photo printing. Walmart and Sam's are cheap - but their print quality is sub-par. You really do get what you pay for - I'm an avid photographer and thats just my 2 cents from my personal experience.

I would recommend a real photo store (not even a Ritz or Wolf unless you want super-saturated results)... Look for a local store that sells cameras, photo paper, etc. etc... they'll give you the best results and will probably be cheaper than Wolf/Ritz. In Chicago-area/burbs I use a place called Helix Camera - they charge 8 bucks for a roll (as opposed to $4 at wal-mart/sams club)- and the results are well worth it.

I've had a couple of prints made at Costco and they turned out nice. CVS pharmacy as well.

njmodi's suggestion is the best though....investigate local camera shops....depending on how "nice" your parents want the pics to be...you can decide who to use. You can also test a roll at three or four places and pick the best one to develop the rest. Just keep the negatives and you can reprint any that don't turn out to their liking.

I agree - try some local shops (1 or 2 rolls per shop) and pick the one that best meets your price/quality expectations. Regarding negatives - You can only compensate so far when making the actual print if the negatives themselves were poorly processed.

My sister is a photographer and a lot of her friends in the field use Costco. It's cheap nad the processing for snaps is good.

4x6 - $.18
5x7 - $.69
8x10 - $1.99

My wife used Snapfish to get the photos from the dispoable cameras we had the guests use at our wedding. We were very happy with the results, and the service. In addition to the prints, they scan them all to digital as well. Very good prices.
