Decent deals for any who missed out on the XFX 7600GS for $50AR. These are NOT the best cards because they use 64 bit memory instead of 128 bit like other 7300GS/GT cards, but they are priced so cheap that they are a better choice than, say, a 7100GS (repackaged 6200TC) or 7300LE (barely) in the same price range.

One complaint about Buy.com... can't easily find stuff there. Browse for products and they just give "featured selections." I want to see ALL selections. Okay, do a search... get a ton of results but most are not sold by Buy.com but are from other vendors. WTF? I want to be able to select a product type and get a whole list of everything that Buy.com itself has in stock, but I guess I'm asking for too much. Couple that with hit/miss pricing and no wonder I hardly buy from Buy.com.

EDIT: Updated with more info, second "deal"

EDIT: Price drop

Amen. If I didn't see their deals posted here, I would probably never shop there.

Totally frustrating trying to find anything other than the 'featured' selections.

How does this card compare to a PNY 6600 PCI express card? Is it better or worse? If it's better, is it worth upgrading? I was trying to find the link I had for card comparison and I couldn't find it.
I bought the PNY brand 6600 PCI express from Newegg but they don't have it anymore. Here's the PNY link. PNY 6600 PCI Express

edit:
Went to EVGA's website and it is a DDR2 64 bit card. EVGA 7300GT

Still want to know how this compares to a 6600 with 128 bit memory if you could, although it looks like the 6600 has a lot more bandwidth.

PNY 6600 Specifications
NVIDIA® CineFX 3.0 engine
Superscalar GPU architecture
300MHz core clock
128-bit DDR memory interface
500MHz memory data rate
8.0GB/sec. memory bandwidth
2.4 billion texels/sec. fill rate
225 million vertices/sec. setup
8 pixels per clock (peak)
16 textures per pixel (max in a single rendering pass)
Dual 400MHz RAMDACs

EVGA specs
Performance
NVIDIA 7300GT
350 MHz GPU
8 Pixel Pipelines
400 MHz RAMDAC
Memory
128 MB, 64 bit DDR2
666 MHz (effective)
5.32 GB/s Memory Bandwidth

Wow, thanks for link. Didn't realize it was 64 bit memory... no wonder so cheap. As to comparing it with the 6600, the 6600 has about 50% more memory bandwidth but the 7300GT core is more powerful. Might be overall kind of equivalent, if you wanted something cheap that was similar.

Then again, your 6600 has slower than normal RAM also. 😛

I don't think it'll be worth you upgrading to this... take a look in Hot Deals for the Newegg BFG 7600GT for $80AR. It costs double this amount and the rebate is a whopping $65, but that card should be a huge upgrade with about TRIPLE the memory bandwidth as the 6600 you have and probably more than double the GPU performance.

Compare 6600 versus 7600GT

The 7600GT is a winner. Indeed I'm glad I didn't buy when I saw and posted the deal... now I'm not going to because of the 64 bit memory.

I really have no idea. Of course you don't have to run the Aero interface... the world won't end ya know. 😉
