If you can get 10 for the price of 2, you give the rest away, or split an order with a buddy. Thats what I did when I bought a dozen to get the price down to $2.50 a couple months ago. Be charitable, and you will be rewarded.

This is very quiet for an 80mm fan. I think only Pabst are quieter, but they're very expensive.

Keep in mind that these dont have the connector to plug into your power supply or motherboard.

You can also get them at http://www.mpja.com/ for under $3. Come with a 2-pin connector that with a slight trim will fit 3-pin motherboard connectors. Posted here about 2-3 months ago. I 've replaced 3 60mm CPU fans with these (home-made brackets) and 2 power supply fans. Very quiet, but also low volume. May not be suitable for over-clocked machines or warmer rooms.

These should come with a two plug connector. You can use them since these fans don't have speed monitoring anyway. Or you can cut them off and use the bare wires in a fan bus.

Of course, the REAL challange is finding panaflos with RPM sensors.. I've found 1 company (that's OOS right now) with M1BX fans for $6.47/fan with an order of 10 ($10+ per single fan). definataly NOT a hot price, unless you want a panaflo with the rpm thing (which I do.. )

My thoughts are to use a fan with a rpm sensor for your cpu fan. The others in my case will be these panaflow L1's. I got mine from somebody who bought 10, I bought 5 from this person for $17. Its really not neccesary to put different tails on these fans. Some people are a little nervous about plugging them into the MB and the MB frying as a result. I dont think there is anything to worry about.

Digikey.... and you'll have to do a search for "m1bx" (it won't let me pull up the search page for direct linkage - sorry). I just checked again and they have 50 or so in-stock (I just ordered 10). The site's a little hard to navigate, and I'm not to keen on their online ordering (spoiled by Newegg/Computergeeks no doubt)...

Note that these are the M fans, not the L (they have slightly higher cfm and db ratings than the L's) - that mike make a difference, maybe not. And if you're just looking for 2~3, pm me - that's about what I'll have left-over.


EDIT: About 10 minutes later, I received an e-mail confirmation of my order, telling me I'd get another confirmation when it shipped.

its been posted already and i will say again.
The fans are from China. Not that they are not quiet or quality is bad or something. Just that others panaflo i got are made in Japan. Don't know why and have not call in the check myself.


And for the pin problem. No need to buy connector. Just get the wire out of the plug. There is 2 small nods on one side of the plug. Cut them off. It allow you to turn around the plug and plug onto your mobo. Reconnect the wires. If you are not sure which wires go where. Test it. It will not burn the fan or mobo.

BTW, check out the light session (LIT). They have the most cheapest fluorescent light 6.99 + PS 6.99 i found for your case.
