I can get a mini ATX motherboard and a P-4 1.5 to 1.6 Ghz 423 pin for around $120 total on Ebay . Has anyone had any luck doing this ? The one I'm looking at will take SDRAM . I'm trying to build a better system on the cheap .. thanks

Parts PC.com

Checkout the ECS P4S5A socket 478/ P4 1.8 combo for $155.95. You pay a little more but, you'll have an upgrade path to a faster socket 478 CPU when they get cheaper, costing less money in the long run. Don't buy the DX version right now though. They seem to be having some problems with them. One stick of 256 MB PC2100 will cost you around $47. If you order a motherboard/CPU combo with it, it'll even be cheaper than that. Also check out the AMD combos while you're there(ECS K7S5A plus XP2100+ w/HS and fan, $132.92).

hmm....maybe not.

I do love my P4 -478 pin system, but I found my friend had no problem OC his 1800XP to 2000XP w/ no voltage increase. All for less than $100 shipped. (refurb mobo + new CPU)
