hehe, damn, why is everyone so worried about the brand of chips, I just threw mine in the server because I needed a quick fix. If I was putting memory in my main machine I would be getting 128 mb sticks @ cas 2. Cant beat $9.99 a stick :)

Had to get a raincheck at the BB I went to. North Austin. Stuff is great for cheap Celeron systems.

Did everyone give up on this deal? I was going to. I didn't want those "Nanyo" chips, so unless I can see thru the package I wasn't going to bother. That ruled out website. Found myself in the area of a Best-Buy today so I went in. Figured they would be out of stock, so I could get a rain check and use it when I saw some good chips. The dude first said they were gone a couple of days ago, then remembered he may have a couple of more. He found one and I peeked thru the little window..... Samsung 031....K4S641632D - TC1H.... that as good as the higher end Samsung chips?

Best Buy is such a waste of time. I went in on Sunday morning when the sale started at 11 am, their usual opening time. They had opened early for Christmas and were already sold out. Got a raincheck. Went back Saturday night, the last night of to buy the ram and get a rebate, they had some in stock but would not sell because they were holding it for some other schmuck who will never buy because the rebate has expired. Reminds me of the DLink mp3 player they advertised for 50 (had $30 rebate at the time). I got there when the store opened and they had none. Got a raincheck and they never got them in. The store manager said they will never get them in. They still have the display model to cover their butts in case someone sues them for advertising stuff they don't have.

You can still get better ram for less $$ all over the web, with no mail in rebate, I learned my lesson with best buy rebates a long time ago, I only ever got about half of them.

Best Buy is suck!
