Well, the cheapest magazine subscriptions are of course the free ones, and I've got a number of those from this site. (Like here.)
But several of my favorite magazines have never appeared in any "for free" offers ("Time" is one), and whether I receive the freebies can be hit & miss. Here is one way to get most mainstream magazines at a good discount.
Barnes & Noble sells magazines at prices that are pretty low to start with--usually at least as low as the mailer inserts in the magazines, and as low as other book & magazine sites. bn.com accepts flooz, they always have great coupons out, and they are a member of ebates. So you could...
--use the "send $75, earn $25" flooz deal. Do this with yourself (or family member, etc.) each way, and you have $200 in value for $150.
--use the "$10 off $30" coupon that is out right now for bn.com. There always seems to be one of these available. They also have multiple $10 off $40 coupons.
--apply ebates 5%.
So theoretically, you can get 33% off the total order, then take 5% off that total, and pay for it with $3 on every $4. That gives a total of 52.5% off your order--which is a pretty decent savings. You won't quite achieve that, as it assumes a number of orders at exactly $30, and that $200 is evenly divisible by $30, but you get the idea.
Btw, bn.com has a special section right now for freebies included with magazine subscriptions. Click "free with subscription" after clicking on the magazines tab on the front page.
Please submit your own magazine hot deals, as I haven't seen a thread on this in awhile.
