Even used, this laptop will probably last longer than anything you can buy from Dell for $500.

I disagree. There's a reason they call them stinkpads. Never used one I liked.

I think it would have been a pretty good deal if it had a network jack.
Thinkpads are bullet proof, great machines, there are a couple other refirb IBMs on that site that look to be good deals.

i'd rather have a 500 new lappy with winxp, dvd/cd-rw... etc, i steer many a friend away from old laptops. refurb or not, dell even has 450.00 laptop now and again, to me in my own opinion, go new
