My mom doesn't want to pay for a router to hook her PC up to my cable, so i guess she'll have to learn the hard way. She wants the cheapest ISP on the planet. So what is it? She doesn't have 56k, i think the modem is 33.6 or whatever. :D

Here's a great Ontario ISP directory that I ran into.

Why on earth doesn't your mother want to pay for a router? She could easily recoup the costs of the router after paying for a few months of SLOWER THAN SNOT dialup service. Routers are cheap, at least here in the USA they are :D

Here is a better idea: ICS

2 of you can surf at the same time.

If that is not good enough then there is Juno. Absolutely free dial-up.

Future Shop has a refurbed Netgear 314 router for $69.99Can. If router cost is a concern to you, it shouldn't be, considering like RossMan said that it'll pay for itself within a few months. :)

As already mentioned before...

You can share the cable with ICS, just need a pair of network cards, one for your computer and one for hers.

And if you insist on dial-up, I hear juno is quite good for what you get, not that I've tried it myself.

And if you're lucky, you'll run into sales on occasion for a cheap router. Staples had a Linksys 4-port for $10CDN a while back, regularly goes for $140CDN. If only I got my friends to each get one for me on top of the one I got myself, as it was only limit one per person.
