Who would give up their upgrade? Unless she's crazy hot and can sucker some poor SOB into giving that away, she needs to spend within her means.

Broken iPhones are cheap, then fix it and you will get it for a lot cheaper. Or buy a new one and sell it before the next one comes out...

I told her that and she doesn't want to do that. I can't seem to find the refurbished iPhone 5 from the apple store.

You have to wait for the next iPhone before they start selling refurbs. You might be able to find refurbs on eBay, but they won't come with warrantees like the Apple ones do.

Depends on what's broken with it. I see iPhone 5's with badly cracked screens on CL selling for over $400 all day around me.

Damn, my S3 (LTE) has one line crack from the left to the right. Everything works fine including the screen. But I don't think I'd get anything for it.

iPhone's command unreasonable prices even if broken. I want an iPhone 4s because I don't want/need a 4" screen. Even with a cracked screen and bad ESN people are still asking $150 for them.

You're wrong. S3 glass is easy to fix, and there are a lot of people repairing&flipping.

You should just read Zaap's posts in this thread and fix it yourself with $20 and a hair dryer.

Or sell it to me for $100! I promise I won't resell, but a poor friend needs a better device. ;)
