cheap HS solution?

i want to upgrade my HSF from the stock as despite my best intention i know i am unable to resist overclocking 😀 [currently running a 2100+ at 166x12=2400+]
with the current setup, after 2hours of prime95 my cputemps by mbm5 were 65-68C!
idle it measures it as 43-48C.

I want to buy a good quality quiet fan [the stock fan is the noisiest thing in my machine]
but i baulk at forking out £20-30+ for big pieces of copper.
I have seen "low brand" copper HS which are rated upto xp3000+ and assume this should be adequate for my needs for an xp2100+?

is this a reasonable/good working solution for my setup [full details as per signature]
and can anyone suggest any other low-cost solution

thanks

There have been a couple of threads recently about buying hsfs in the uk. Frankly we haven't got a lot of good, cheap options. The good "big pieces of copper" ( 😉 ) will cost you about £50 from overclockers, and apart from that it all seems much of a muchness.

The problem is that good quality and quiet together = cost. I really wish I'd bought a bunch of stuff when i was back in the US - the prices here are a complete rip off!
I'm running an XP2200+ (tbred B) at 2400+ with an sk-7 and a panaflo L1A. Getting 33-35 idle, and very, very quiet. Its very nice, but its not cheap. I paid about £30 for the sk-7 and I got the panaflo last time i was in the states for about £3. The prices here are quite a bit more expensive.

I don't really know of any cheap hsfs here in the UK that are better than the stock ones. You could try the Zalman flower coolers - they cost about £20 from Maplins, and are supposed to be quite quiet - theres an all copper one and an alu/copper mix thats cheaper. Apart from that all the cheap ones i've seen are no name ones.

hhhmmm

thanks
my in-laws live in canada so i guess i could ask them to have a look and hopefully if things are cheaper there i could get them to post it over.
wife going to visit in summer but i dont think i can wait until august!
