cheap good case

Hi, I'm looking for a cheap, good case that I can use. All I need is good cooling and a good layout so everything won't be cramped up inside and hopefully not too much weight or too big since I'm living on campus and move around every 4 month. A good looking case wouldn't hurt neither 🙂 Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There's usually a decent deal on an aluminum Skyhawk case. Search the Hot Deals forum. Or, you can check the For Sale/Trade forum for used cases.

Lian Li PC-7 Plus. Newegg has them @ $85. There are not too many better cases at that price.

KingWin 424 looks real good at $85.

Antec SLK 3000.

Anything less than these is not worth talking about. I regret buying a SkyHawk from dealsonic
for cheap with padded shipping.

Good Luck on cheap and good. They don't belong in the same sentence.

This Raidmax case is only $30, but doesn't come with a psu. I have it, and it looks good for the price, and has decent cooling (2 side exhaust fans). Not too heavy, and should be enough space for all your components.

What GY said. Antec SLK3000-B, $42.99 shipped from Amazon. It comes with 1-120mm rear Antec Tricool 3 speed fan, side duct, and room for another 120mm in front; steel except for front plastic door & bezel, and weighs in at 19 lbs.

Be aware that the $89.00 Lian Li PC-7 Plus at Newegg comes with a 1-120mm rear fan and a 80mm front fan. This may be adequate cooling, but for a few bucks more there are 2-120mm fan versions of this case out there.

And then there's cheap.
$9. Skyhawk case at Mwave

That raidmax looks kinda pretty....I'm in the market for a decent case/psu combo as well and I was thinking of getting the boring (but durable) antec slk3800b (with an antec sp400w psu included) @ newegg for $99.99 plus shipping. I can get the psu alone for $45 so I think I'll do that and buy the raidmax.

That Raidmax looks similar to an Enermax case I bought for my daughter last year. She liked the color changing front light bars. It had the same restrictive back fan grills as the Raidmax. The first thing I did was Dremel them out.

Here's a case that comes with 2-120mm blue led fans for $44.95 + shipping. All that mesh though would probably let in a lot of dust.

performance wise.... antec if you are going to add another 120mm fan in front.

look wise.... coolermaster hands down.

I got the Cavalier 3, VERY GOOD FOR WORKING WITH. My friend's dad does all the work on his pc, in the Antec Case, he says that it gets cramped in areas. 1 tip with the Cavalier: tie-rap the front buttons, they give u like 4 metres of cable.

My son has the Antec case. The only problem that he found was that if you install your drives in the top bays first it's almost impossible to install the psu. Other than that he found it had ample room to work in.

Antec deal through Amazon is an awesome deal..

2 long standing recommendations,

@ $54.99 LX-6A19 ATX MINI TOWER CASE Same as the Antec SLK, but you could argue about the LX's bezel having better ventilation

@ $39.99 this case is often mistaken as one of the low budget clones, but look closer
CF-2029 Mid-Tower ATX Computer Case Cooling is very sufficiant, 120mm front fan, 2, 80mm exhaust, solid construction, vented side panels, thick acrylic bezel is easily "removable" the LEDS/Switchs as well, Nice automotive grade finish. If youre inclined to mod it, a 4.5" hole saw will open up the bezel for more improved ventilation

I just recently built my new system with this case:
Chenming 301
http://www.xoxide.com/chenming3011.html (they have other colors too)

Only $39.99. It is aluminum with USB & IEEE up front and a large window.
You can even add a CCFL for $4 and a 350 Watt PSU for $13.

I like it, got good reviews too.

Just my $0.02

Better off without wasting money on the type of cheap PSU that would come with a case.

Ive got a Cooler Master Centurion V, comes with two fans: 120mm Exhaust fan & 80mm intake fan. Its a great size case, with 5 drive bays, clear side window and it is resonably light. I originally ran my system with only the stock fans inside and it kept my system temps below 30c most of the time (besides summer, due to a lack of an air conned house). It is well priced at $90 AUD without PSU.
