I ordered 10 carts for Epson 860 on August 6th.
Paypal to credit card charged and shipping intent was posted on the 8th.
Shipping from Georiga to Florida.

USPS status never changed:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on
August 08, 2003 to expect your package for mailing. Status is updated every evening.
Please check again later.

It's now the 18th, and still nothing.
Have emailed them and will see what happens.
It's probably something simply like the guy who is walking the parts down from Georgia to me twisted his ankle or something.

Whoa, they've been with Paypal since 08/03/03 only. $1 a cart and free shipping? Hmm, an investigation is in order

Checked FW, most recieved theirs in a relatively timely fashion. 50/50 at Pricegrabber

Parent Company
After checking them out, why do I feel I'm lucky to get anything at all?

Alot of people at FW have had good experiance with them. A couple had some issues witht the order taking awhile to get to them and others with PayPal payments. Most seem like glitches in MonsterInk's systems. But all where addressed and taken care of.

I personally ordered for my Epson 440 and 820. I got the rainbow generic carts for the 440 and plain blue carts for the 820. Some have said the plain blue are the best generic brand. I got my order quick (in 3 work days after order) and was very pleased with the deal. I plan on ordering again.

Use a credit card instead of PayPal you'l be better protected and eliminate a potential issue. For what its worth I think MonctersInk is a straight-up business.

Scary PC World article about generic ink. This is from the issue on news stands right now. It says generic ink produces quality prints but tends to fade and clog print heads. This is not the propoganda that printer companies give you -- they did some research on various inks. Personally I have used generic ink for some time and have noticed both the fading and the clogging. It has never deterred me in the past, but now that I have several Epson inkjets that seem picky about the ink (and that don't include print heads in the cartridges), I think I am going to switch back to OEM ink.

Still waiting on my order from the 6th.

Sent them a message using their on-line form, and
also sent them an email to sales@monsterinkets.com.

They have ignored both.....

Seeing as some orders have taken time, these still may show up.
But, next time I'll pay the $1.50 per cart instead of $1, and order them elsewhere.
For some reason, in the back of my head the word Cyberwings keeps repeating.
If it's too good to be true, it will not last, and the last ones in get burned.

that's y u buy those cleaning kits. i'm not sure if the work or not but i've seen them around:

http://www.tylermartin.com/epsonprintheadcleaningcartridges.htm

as for getting a canon instead of an HP, that's just ridiculous. canon printers imho aren't that great. HP and Epson I would rate to be the best quality inkjet printers while epson have the advantage of cheap replacable ink.

tylermartin carries hp replacements and refill kits:
http://www.tylermartin.com/hewlettpackardmadeinusa.htm
http://www.tylermartin.com/hpcalidad.htm

but replacement cartridges are ~$20.

hope someone finds this info useful.

HPs are fine as long as you want to pay $20,000 a gallon for ink. As far a photo printing, the Canons will stand up to and exceed the HPs and Epsons.

RE:"Do you guys actually print that much at home?"

We run 7 Canons and do over 1000 copies a week. More if we run a brochure.

I have a couple HPs sitting on the shelf ready to go in the circular file. They ate me out of house and home for a while until I got smart and went with Canons. I've had to put one Canon s630 out to pasture after about 10,000 copies because the printhead failed and it wasn't worth replacing because for another $100 or so dollars you can get a faster and better Canon. The printheads in the i850s are tough as nails, ceramic. Better than the ones in the s750 or s630. Then again, I used to take the printheads out of the S750s and stick them under the faucet and clean them out and the blow dry them and stick them back in...and none ever quit.

Epson: When planet align, capable of best photo quality prints. Mediocre text. Very poor design that results in frequent clogging of heads. Unclogging of heads can waste a lot of ink (if you are able to unclog them). Slow to power up. Noisy.

HP: Nearly as good photo quality as Epson, very good text. Excellent design all around. Relatively fast to power up. Relatively quiet. The best choice.

Lexmark: Poor photo quality. Best text quality. OK design, although problems with paper feeding straight.

No question: HP is the best choice.

I have used all three at length. I will never buy anything but HP again.

Interesting...I'll never buy an HP inkjet again. I can't afford $20,000 for a gallon of ink.

I have received ink carts ordered, but with really close to expiration dates........It wouldn't bother me at these prices except others have gotten their ink cartridges with expiration dates like 5/2005. I am still waiting for a reply to my email. :(

I don't get it. You guys are paying $1 per cartridge including shipping, and you're bitching about shipping speed and expiration date? Get real...

Ordered on the 6th, was charged on the 8th, and emailed that it would take 1 to 6 days.

Ran out of ink on the 16th, so no more rebate forms until ink arrives.

After numerous unanswered emails to them, I finally received a reply on the 19th
stating that orders should ship by the 22nd, and they will email me when shipped.

It's the end of day on the 26th, and still have nothing, and they also again fail to respond to emails inquiring about status.
It's getting close to the PayPal 30 day limit to dispute.

Back to megatoners or Tyler Martin for cheap ink. I'll pay the extra 40 cents per cart for reliable service.

Blah.. who cares when someone can get a Cannon I320 for like $25 AR. The freakin thing's disposable. I can understand someone would be timid when they use $1 generic ink on their spiffy new I850, but seriously.. some of us doesn't really care if it clogs it up after 10 carts of generics.

Retail Black ink costs about $6
Generic Blacks $1.50
For 10 carts, you save $45

Cost of printer $30 AR

So you'll be saving yourself $15 even if the printhead craps out on 11th cart.

I finally got a reply to my email (after I emailed them a 2nd time). They stated that they have no control over what the expiration date is on the ink cartridges that are shipped. That leads me to ask all of you that ordered color or black ink cartridges for your Epson 880 printerrr, what were the expiration dates on your cartridges? Thanks.

What "brand" ink does this place send out? Nectron blue box, Rainbow brand (in white box with rainbow logo), USAInkjets, G&G, or something else?

At that price it's generic.

OTOH, it's time for you to upgrade that printer to a i850 $89 refurb at outpost.com) or a i560 ($99 at Sams) or if you're really on a budget Staples is closing out the i550s for $69 and look for a coupon on thin wallet(cough).
I'd get the i560 or the i850 though.
