Cheap, elegant case?

Budget-ish build for my parents. Elegance, airflow desired, tool-less drives would be nice, and definitely no bling. I was thinking the $50+shipping Thermaltake Matrix would fit the bill, but are there other options I'm missing?

Most Antec cases look pretty good and aren't too expensive either. Securemart.com has great prices on Antec cases, I've bought probably 4 Antecs from them and haven't had any problems.

Might be a little over your budget, but if you like the looks I would definitely recommend them.

I dunno...

Nothing personal, but that case looks kinda kludgey to me!

Have you looked at the Thermaltake Swing yet? 😉

CoolerMaster Mystique 631 at http://www.SVC.com/clearance.html but you only have a few hours to take advantage of it. Rebate is good to the end of the month but the $44.94 starting price may go away today at 8 or 9am PST. Shipping can kill the deal if you live on the East Coast. Considering what others charge for the Mystique, even with east coast shipping it's still a good deal after rebate.

If the latter is the case, then look to newegg/chiefvalue for the Rosewill R560x series or the R6A series (none of the other Rosewills (or the Mystique) have the casitude score that those do - mostly functional points). Some have Instant Savings and the others have free shipping. So the price for any comes in around $50 shipped. Check out my review.

Coolermaster Centurion is the nicest case for $50 IMO.

One of the lower end Lian Li's like a PC-7 would take the "elegance" crown for a little more $$$.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I guess I've decided I like the look of two-tone (black/white black/silver) cases better than monochrome. Those cheap Super Talent cases actually look pretty nice...

Also looking at the Enermax Chakra.

I just saw this at Microcenter yesterday and was impressed with the look and feel of it....a bit over your limit though.

Aluminum front bezel, 120s front and rear, and tooless...

I posted the following in another similar thread, thought it could help you too:

I don't know if you've picked up a case yet, but SVC has the Mystique 631 Aluminum Cases on clearance for half off. They're normally $100 cases and i have read a TON of reviews that say they are awesome cases for that $100 price tag.

SVC has them for $45 before a $15 MIR = $30 AR right now. They also accept PayPal which means that you could get another $15 back from PayPal using the PayPal rebate (if you haven't used it yet).

They have either the Silver Model (the one i got), the Black Model, or the Black Model with a Window all for the exact same price.

They look very classy, as they have a very cool look to them with the unique front and they come with 2 120mm fans for great air flow and relatively good db level, one of the fans is a blue LED fan (which lights up the front waves and looks very nice!) The whole setup is completely tool less (you can even hold in the expansion cards with a built-in clamp if you desired).

I could not find a better case for the price and would recommend it for you as well. It's an awesome looking case with plenty of great features for an unbeatable price.

Hope it helps!
Chris
