CHEAP computer needed, just for internet, email and photo storing

My brother is in need of a computer to replace his laptop that has broken. He only needs a computer for the internet, emailing and to store his photos. He doesn't play any games, run any special programs or editing software.

Where's the best place to look for something like this?

If you don't want to go for the major players, like Dell, you can also check out PowerNotebooks (http://www.powernotebooks.com/). They resell laptops from some of the major original design manufacturers (ODMs) that supply companies like Dell, etc.

They have great reviews on resellerratings.com, and many of their laptops have a 3-year warranty standard (as opposed to the one year warranty offered by most major manufacturers). They also offer lifetime tech support.

I cannot say that I've bought from them personally, but their reputation on resellerratings.com is one of the best I've ever seen.

They have some models that are in the $600 price range.
