just finishing up my home network.... need some cat 5 to hook up the last computer to the switch.. about 100-150 ft... where is the best place to get some?

The cheapest way to get CAT5 is buy some bulk cables and crimp your own... that way you can customize your length and it will be cheaper than buying crimped ones...

Hmmmm,
If you think you can find a crimping tool to borrow(unless you want one for yourself-they are the most costly item for making cables).

You will save LOTS of MONEY making your own for this length.

You will be just fine with 250feet of PVC solid-core at $28.95. The more expensive cable is for running through ceiling conduits, and is non-toxic when it burns. The cheap stuff is fine, for common household use. Add a ten pack of connectors $3.00 and your set(if you have a tool to borrow). However, they do have a medium duty crimping tool for $14.00...

Grand total: $55.00 to make (2) 100ft cables, (1) 50 foot cable, and gain some experience doing it.

Have fun...

NECX also has pre-made 100ft cables for $30, so its up to you.
