I already have a grey-wrapped 4-device version of these very same cables I paid a WHOLE lot more for. And for .75 extra for SILVER ones? Count me in - SVC does it again!

No...not wrong forum - maybe you should read the actual post before deciding to crap in it. Here's some toilet paper. I was merely pointing out that I had these same cables, that they were very good - and that I found a very good price for them from a well-respected site - SVCompucycle and thought the SCSI-users of the forum like myself would be interested.

Oh yeah, and one other thing: WOULD NOT YELLING IN ALL CAPS BE ACCEPTABLE TO YOU, MR. GOLDEN MEMBER??!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

Geeze.

No complaints here, Mo - I use a straight-thru terminator and I really see no noticeable difference between these and the twist-and-flat ribbon cables I've used - I wouldn't trust a more-than-six-device rounded LVD cable...but four should be just fine and as I've said, they've never failed me in about a year's worth of use.

Got one. been waiting to replace my long flat cable that came with my Tekram card. I guess I'll just use my old terminator on the end.

BTW-What is a a straight thru terminator?

This is a pass-thru terminator - instead of wasting the last connector on the cable, you can plug this into the end of the cable and then into the device and it actively terminates the chain while enabling the device it's connected to to still transmit data rather quickly - and to an extent more effectively as the chain doesn't have to travel an extra length to realize it's terminated. Essentially, this makes a four-device cable actually REMAIN a four-device cable instead of being a three-device-plus-terminator-cable.

Example

However, even though they're nice (VERY nice), they're still rather pricey in comparison to a passive terminator. That one there is 48 bucks while a single-mode U2W pass-thru on the same site is the same price.
