Cheap ($99 and $199 AR) Desktops CompUSA 6-hr sale

Wow, another bulls1it CompUSSR sale...

They never have stock of ANYTHING they advertise.

One Sunday afternoon, I saw a new headset I liked. I check the INTERACTIVE website and it said the store 15 miles away had stock. Given my previous experiences, I called to have someone veryify stock. They said, yes we have 6!
Cool, I drove up to the store. When I got there they could not find the items. Said they were out of stock. What had the MORON sale person done when I called to verify stock? Check the same damn worthless computer system for inventory.

Turns out a bunch of them were returned cause they were defective. But they added them back into their available inventory!?!?!?!?

You guys are awesome! I went into the Fresno CompUSA and they were out of the regular $199 computers, so I asked if they had received this sales directive. The manager looked it up and sure enough, I was able to order this A64 3400+ system exactly as above. The $250 rebate printed out... the $50 rebate will come with the PC, which will be shipped to my house for free.

Great deal! Thanks!

it was an interesting sale as usual
i just stood around and noted who was getting crunk about what computers
the young guys wanted the compaq, the old farts were chasing the emachines
now i know who they are, but they don't know who i am 🙂
will see them again

uncle, how many people did the CTO deal at your store?

the old farts were chasing the emachines

Careful there, unclebud. I resemble that remark.

i am shocked to hear that

"The only thing I like about Compusa are the bathrooms these days."
mmm... the employees VOLUNTEERED to do it about three/four times from what i could tell -- because people was raising so much cane up in there

but they didn't know about the emachines sub (neither did i)

"The only thing I like about Compusa are the bathrooms these days."
on the bathroom door here
"HEY!
HOW ABOUT
SOME
MORE HAND
TOWELS
IN HERE?"
somebody had added "AND A DISPENSER TOO!"
another wise guy had added "jobs" to part of the previous text
and it has been on the door for over two years...

Did anyone go for the SR1010Z at CC yesterday or today? It wasn't as good as the CompUSA deal ($210 in rebates + 10% off coupon vs $300 in rebates), but it was possible to get a Sempron 3000+ system for $123AR/AC and an Athlon 64 3200+ system for $141AR/AC before CC closed tonight.

Some people had luck getting the shipping waived, but it was $35 otherwise. That was still under $200AR/AC with shipping for an Athlon 64 system.

Anyone gotten an order confirmation yet on this or know how to check the order status?
I tried to login to the compusa site but it must be different account info for the CTO.

Got my order confirmation e-mails a couple days ago.

Bump Bump... also is there a tracking number for this mofo?

Anyone check the $50 rebate? It reads as if it requires the purchase of a monitor as well but there is no mention of a requirement of purchasing the monitor in the ad.

Did you get your machine already? Becasue, I was told it would not require any other purchase. I just got an email saying my order is in process. I don't know if that means it shipped or my order is in process.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to get a box in the store.

Here is a copy I made of the $50 rebate Terms & Conditions section.

No where in any of the advertisements do I see any condition on having to buy a monitor as well to get the $50 rebate but this rebate receipt that I received in the store seems to say otherwise.

I have the $50 rebate form that someone posted at FW ("summer savings made just for you" June 12-September 6). There are 2 check boxes on it: $50 rebate for the computer alone or $50 + $50 ($100) for the computer + monitor.

The register printed CompUSA $50 rebate is the wrong one. Don't worry about it. The computer ships with the rebate form and it doesn't require a monitor purchase.

I 2nd that, Don't worry about it.. I asked the Manager at my local CUSA (Detroit, MI) and he said that it will be ok with this deal. This is the first purchase I have made from CUSA that includes rebates ($300.00) so im a bit skeptical about it. So we'll see how it turns out.

I was going to go pick up one of those 99$ pc's but read the fine print at the bottom. Seems to imply you need to subscribe to AOL for 1 year to get the rebate.

where at?

Right here:

Open to new and current AOL members in the U.S. who are 18 or older and have a valid major
credit card. Requires a 12-month commitment to AOL service at a monthly membership fee of $23.90 per month for a total of $286.80.
If you are not satisfied with the PC,

Pretty lame IMO

lol of course !

I may be too picky, but I have been doing rebates for years with 100% success rate and I would NOT send in that rebate form. I would go to CompUSA and get the correct one or get one from here. (edit: Oops! Sorry! looks like that's the wrong one. Thanks to pxc for catching that and linking the right one.) Rebate houses need little excuse to reject rebates, and they might not know or care what you ACTUALLY bought, they would just know that you sent in the wrong form.

Good luck!

Thanks. That is what I needed. You saved me a call and a trip to CompUSA to get my rebate form straightened out.

Ack. This rebate is no good for computers ending with model# NX.....which is what I picked up in store. Looks like a trip to CompUSA afterall.

The rebate link I posted is good for the NX series.

According to Fatwallet and other deal sites this deal is still good. $300 ($250 + $50) rebate on a SR1010Z configured to order. CompUSA is charging shipping now, but you can still configure a computer for as low as $159 shipped plus taxes(after rebate). The new end date on the rebate form is July 9.

Anybody get their computer yet?

I got a confirmation email, but no computer yet.

The $250.00 rebate states it must be postmarked by July 22, and that the UPC is required.

Finally got an order confirmation but no shipment information.
:disgust:
They could learn quite a bit from DELL.

Well, I just got confirmation of it being shipped.

Checked the tracking number at Fedex, and they say the package is 40 kg (88 lbs?)

Either Compaq makes its cases out of lead, Fedex is ripping off Compaq in shipping charges, or I am getting a free monitor or something.😉
