Cheap 7"-8" Android tablets?

Kadence

I'm looking to get a couple cheap tablets. On Amazon I see many for $50-$70, even 9" ones. Are tablets at that price going to be of decent quality?

Note that I'm not looking for much. All I'll be using them for is web browsing, Youtube, and playing Clash of Clans and Game of War 🙂

If it has a decent screen and battery life that's good. Not really sure what other features I should be targeting.

What are some good Android tablets of this size?

Depends on what you want. Most of the cheap ones are subject to a low feature set, including a TN panel instead of a nice IPS screen (plus low resolution) & performance lag. They're getting better with time, but a $49 tablet from Best Buy isn't going to be the same as a $499 iPad Mini. I would avoid anything with a TN screen (bad viewing angles) and a screen resolution of 1024x600 (makes web browsing painful).

I would suggest looking for a tablet with an IPS screen and a resolution of at least 1280x800. If you do choose an off-brand (like something from China), make sure it has access to the Google Play store so you can load up your games easily. Also, read up on reviews on the gaming performance for the games you want to play, since a lot of the cheap tablets skimp out on the video card portion. This might be a good starting point for $69:

I like the Sero 7 Pro (an improved Nexus 7 2012 clone).
Can usually grab them refurbed from newEgg for $40-$45.

I run the LiquidSmooth ROM on both of mine and could not be happier.
