Note that the drive is listed as $48.99 before promo, so $39.99 after promo means that the promo code should take off $9, but has a qty discount of $1/drive when you buy 4+. Usually the promo code is only good for five, maybe three.

So, in my experience, the qty discount and $ off promo codes stack, up to a point. So you could maybe get four (or five?) of these drives for $38.99 ea. after promo code and qty discount. (If they stack for you.)

That's the best post-flood price that I've seen yet from Newegg for non-refurb drives.

Pre-flood, I bought some WD 500GB drives for ~$37 during a Memorial Day sale at Newegg some years back.

Are Toshiba drives any good I need several of the 2tb drives for media storage?

The toshiba drives that I have are toshiba branded HGST units.
I wouldn't say they are better or worse than any other HD maker.

BTW, code don't work on anything other than 1TB size for me.

I think you meant "mole", not "troll"...

But in any event, did you notice the valid-through dates for the other codes? I didn't bother going back to check their recent email promos, but I'm more inclined to think the other drives' codes were just set to expire, rather than that they were errors that some "spy" specifically keeping tabs on AT informed them of...
