Cheap 19" perfect flat CRT for Canadians!

I was at Costco B&M the other day, and noticed that they had this monitor, and it was only $419.99CDN. (~$265.00USD)

The monitor itself looked pretty decent, with a perfectly flat screen. The specs on the manufacturers website are pretty vague as to what kind of tube is in it. Seems to have decent video bandwidth (203 MHz) and other specs (1600X1280@75Hz), but I would like to know if it is a Invar tube or an Aperture Grille?

I had a older Daytek monitor ( or Gaytek as my wife would call it ) It worked ok but everytime it changed resolutions it would make a huge *click* 😉 Have not seen another one since then so I don't know if they have ever improved.

my friend has it, it isn't a aperture grille, and at 1600x1280, it isn't very clear because of the .25mm dots

If it was a aperture grille tube, it would say so. It would be a good selling point if it was. My brother bought a Daytek monitor a couple years back and he had to return it TWICE for repairs! Each time they had it for about 2-3 weeks... I would not recommend these from my experience. But seems to be working alright now.

Is Samtron low quality products of Samsung?

Is Viewsonic E70F currently the lowest-priced perfect flat 17" monitors in Toronto? I saw the lowest price of it for $288. Is it good?
