Chavez is a hero to democracy. Please refrain from further criticism of his actions.

Haha yourself. US are nothing more than con artists that murder and rape. They tried to do Chavez but he had people's support. Why would these people help him? Think hard. it's not hard when someone is trying to do the right thing.

Obvious you can't stay on topic. It has nothing to do with NK or Kim Jong but Chavez. Kim Jong was appointed leader. Chavez was elected as leader.

I'm not sure here because I don't read P&N too often, but does AzN actually believe these things or is he just a huge troll?

what amazes me is the supporters this guy has here in America

I supported him in the beginning as I believe in balance. You can't have a society where 1% live in fabulous wealth and 99% in destitution and misery. But Chavez has gone way overboard and will start making people "disappear" soon.

Azn, I would look out for the cult of personality types. That stuff and any economic /political system is bad news. If you are going to be supportive of a indigenous working for the people Evo Morales is cool, and not shown himself to be a huge drama queen about it.

Even he has had to tell Chavez to put a sock in it at times. His cult of personality thing is plain creepy in a post-stalinst world and does nothing to help the image of the revolution anyhow.

You know you're a moron when you find yourself on the same side of a debate as AzN.

If you look at US foreign policy in south America over the last century you would understand why people like chavez exist.

Have you ever looked at all the things we have done in south America? Look at America's involvement with the dictators of the 70s and 80s.

Ever heard of the dirty war? Have you seen the documents showing the US involvment in the dissapearing of thousands in Argentina?

Have you ever heard of Pinochet? Allende fell out of favor with Nixon so Nixon cut off aid and funded media outlets in chile to get their way.

Seriously know your history before you go ahead and judge anyone like Chavez. While I have seen first hand whats its like in that country the portrayal of Chavez and others like him troughout history is very much based on propaganda. I personally do not like Chavez and find many of his actions deplorable. What you need to ask yourself is throughout history how many leaders like this did we create?

South America is fucked up today, solely because of America's War on Drugs.

I've never had a whiff of Chavez "getting it," and I was born in Caracas, Venezuela.

Chavez has siezed oil rigs and other equipment from over 60 Oil Services companies and owes them Billions of dollars for services rendered, Oil provided, wells drilled, and for their stolen oil rigs which he did not pay for. Chavez is a thief. It is like venezuela is home to the Chavez Mafia. It is time we went down there and took all our equipment back at the end of a gun.

At the bare minimum it should be illegal to sell him oil rigs or floating platforms. We should be asking the UN to ban all business with his country until such time that he pay for everything that he has stolen. If not, we should just blow up our own property.
