Chavez losing it

In the first story involves continued seizing of US and native business assets and not paying them for past services. The second Chavez is asking interpol to arrest a media mogul and his son for disparaging comments made about Chavez while abroad. As economy crashes as must happen when you take away producers incentive to produce I guess it's just a matter of time before he pulls the ole commie solution of killing off these "parasitic bourgeoisie" like Stalin and Mao. Is their a way to 'short' Venezuela?

Zuloaga, 67, has disappeared since a Caracas court issued an arrest warrant last week in connection with what his lawyer said was a May 2009 charge of illegally storing 24 vehicles to resell at higher prices.

Ah the joys of a leftist paradise. Never will it cease to amaze me at how godawful ignorant and naive people are to allow communism and its little brother socialism to take root despite the past evidence of each ideologies failures, atrocities and inevitable path toward oppression.

Hopefully Interpol doesn't decide to descend into a laughing stock organization by honoring this ridicules request to enforce political persecution on the behalf of a tinpot dictator.

Venezuela deserves this. He did not lie to them and they voted him in knowing what was coming.

Actually, 1) he did, and 2) he made sure to eliminate any chance of not getting elected by crushing any media outlets that would lend any airtime to opposition or say anything negative about him, and by imprisoning any potential electable opposition candidates. Kind of like saying Saddam was elected fair and square, except Chavez is not quite as brutal as Saddam was (yet). Instead of bullet to the head or torture at some horrible place, he just seizes everything and has the person charged with some bogus crime.

I have a friend who owns a small chain of businesses around Caracas and Maracaibo. Someone posted opposition fliers a while back in a couple of the stores. He was told in no uncertain terms that he was only in business as long as they allowed him to be, and that if he didn't stop being unpatriotic he would get brought up on some (made up) charges and shut down.

The Venezuelan people deserve better, but they are at fault for ever letting such a socialist nutcase get power to begin with. Other countries should take note....

VENEZUELA STOCK MKT INDX (IBVC:IND)

The IBC Index from the Caracas Stock Exchange (Venezuela), also known as the General Index, is a capitalization-weighted index of the 15 most liquid and highest capitalized stocks traded on the Caracas Stock Exchange (Bolsa de Valores de Caracas). The index was modified from a previous existing index on August 28, 1997, but essentially continues to be the same.

Like Oliver Stone?
For a start. We've got a whole generation who've been brainwashed to think that the Venezuelan form of government is viable, righteous and completely sustainable.

I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. 😉

but but but "progressives" *love* Chavez, he is a champion of the little people against the evil rich. Everything Chavez does is done purely out of the kindness of his gracious heart!

Absolutely.

If the Venezuelan people don't wake up and get him out of power through whatever means required, they will wake up one day to see history repeat itself. To quote the article in the first link in my sig, "Collectivism and individualism cannot long share the same bed."

Dissenters will eventually have to be dealt with.

What the proletariats don't understand is that if you set up a system to destroy the rich, eventually you ARE the rich. Sure, you may be living in a tin shack, but it's the nicest tin shack in the shanty town, and by god you must have taken advantage of people to get it.

It is hilarious, now look at the alarmist bullshit they post all day long about the President here in the USA. Now think how often these articles are bullshit if you investigate.

Same lies, same media outlets. Lots of oil. Brown leader who told their republican president to shove it.

Like I said, tools.

Send in the clowns...

Why don't you move to Venezuela steeplerot? Clearly it's a socialist paradise. Put your money where your mouth is.

Maybe we could get a 2 for 1 deal on airline tickets. One for Dave to Somalia, one for Steep to Venezuela.

Damn that liberal media! Dogpiling on the Venezuelan president every chance he can get. You would think they....oh wait. They hate Chavez. Explain that oh denizens of RW bullshit.

You guys are such tools buying this reactionary shit endlessly from the oily media about Chavez.

Exactly. US media is a joke. One lie after another about people they have a problem with.

Chavez if anything brought real democracy to his country. He is a true freedom fighter.
