this might not sound too great right now, but another beer is a great cure for a hangover.

From what I've heard, no. I usually take an Emergen'C packet (I think it's more the fizz settling my stomach than the vitamin overload really doing anything) and an Advil, then eat some greasy food and I'm good to go.

There is nothing better for a hangover than drinking a pint of water before going to bed. Hangovers are caused by dehydration.

There's more to hangovers than dehydration. Water does help prevent hangovers though.

I always drink a glass of water with every drink - this will pretty much entirely prevent hangovers. In the rare case that I screw that up, I take maximum-strength pseudoephedrine-based cold medicine in the morning - that seems to work really well for a hangover.

You need to pound down more water befor eyou got to sleep amigo :) I've never had an issue with hangovers if I pound down a few good sized glasses of water before turning in even after my most drunken of nights(new years, and when I threw a house party because my parents were in hawaii).

Drinking water like that works really well for me too, but it's not always an option. I haven't tried pseudoephedrine for a hangover though. Usually if I've got it bad, it won't go away until I eat some food and get a nap in.

Gatorade/Powerade/etc ftw

Hangovers are also about what you lose due to dehydration.

That's not the best idea... Booze is stress enough for your liver and Advil puts more strain on it. Acute liver failure FTL!

It's Tylenol that you need to avoid. The NSAIDS aren't so bad on the liver. Just don't take too many.

Dehydration is a symptom (caused by vassopressin inhibition), and is responsible for the headaches, but the majority of the hangover symptoms is caused by glutamine rebound.

No, that's pretty much most of it. Alcohol is replacing water in your bloodstream.

You need to drink 4oz of water between each drink to prevent a hangover. This will usually work. Drinking water before going to bed won't do much.
