Charter communications just rolled out upgraded the cable channels - but discontinued the TV Guide channel - so now all their customers have more channels to watch with no idea whats on

They're just forcing you to buy TV Guide if you want to know what's on ahead of time. My local carrier was considering doing the same thing, but they haven't done it yet.
