Chart for memory and mobos?

Hi everyone,

Is there a chart around that shows which mobos like which memory best? I go to the sites and they generally list a few, which of course is ok, but do some design the board in mind for a specific memory, is what I'm actually asking.

ALSO I happen to have a year old unused 680i SLI LT board and decided to build another system. (side note)I already ordered a p5q for my other comp, but this is somewhat fun, have other good parts laying around I will strip from another coputer. Which is the board I'd need to order memory for. I was going to order from Crucial, but they didn't show my memory for it, my board is an A1, they only show it for T1 endings.

Hope someone can give some generic advice.

Thanks!
Kenneth

Relax, it's not that big of an issue. It's mostly because the vendors can't test every single combination. Good RAM should work regardless.

Just make sure you get memory rated for the standard JEDEC voltage (example: 1.8V for DDR2) and you should be fine. Some "high performance" memory is rated for like 2.0V and actually won't boot unless the board is set to 2V. Which can be a real problem if you only have that memory for your build.
