According to this article women would rather be with an ugly man because:​

• Handsome men are players and cheat on them or eventually leave while ugly men realize they are lower value than them and so work hard in the relationship to compensate the value gap.
• The handsome man seeks to reproduce by spreading the seed while women want a committed and nurturing man that takes care of their child. The ugly guy is more than willing to commit to her and support their children.
• Since the ugly guy is lower value the woman gets the dominant role in the relationship.
• Like “players” did now the woman can be the one to choose when to dump the guy or cheat on him. (so a reversal of roles, does it fix anything really?)
