Hey all,

i am thinking about doing charity work when i get back from basic training in november. I am trying to work it that i work 4 days a week and spare a day to do charity work / study.

Thoughts from ATOT?

Set on homeless/elderly? I think Big Bro's/Big Sis's is pretty cool, too. Just do some research in your area, there are tons of fun opportunities. I used to do a lot of volunteer work with a NP Org in my area that basically helps out / hosts social events for terminally ill children. Things like support groups for the children/families and then parties/day camps for the kids to enjoy.

the ederly... they have more wisdom and insight you can gain from talking to them than you would imagine...

you have seen Benjamin Button right? well one of the reasons (imo) he was so smart was because of the environment he was brought up in... he was always around those with long term, real world knowledge... he learned everything he needed before he needed it... and that is the opportunity working with the elderly gives you.

if you are nice to enough old people, you might end up in a will
not that you should expect something for helping people and all that
