Was an amazing goal, but never should have been a penalty. I say final score 3-2 Man U. Unlucky woodwork twice in the first half on the same play by Utd.
They can have 5 subs from 7 today.Originally posted by: joohang
The Shield is technically a friendly, right? Is there unlimited sub, then?

I dont know why Man U sat back while having the man advantage. If Ruud scores in the Shootout, does it keep his goal streak for Man U alive?

Goddamn!
BTW, they cut me off for some reason at Pires' penalty kick. BASTARDS! But I bitched at Bell so they gave me back full credit. At least I watched the game for free.![]()

Some after thoughts:
Arsenal did not play their best at offense today. The French players seemed quite rusty too. Both sides played very strongly defensively. Man U's defense with Rio Ferdinand et al played well as they normally do. I was impressed with Kolo Toure and Sol Campbell as the central defense combo at Arsenal.
Jeffers kicking Neville was totally uncalled for, although I think Phil Neville should've been second yellowed as well for grabbing his legs right in front of the ref. Very stupid of Jeffers because if he kept himself cool for a sec, it would've been Neville out of the match, not him.
Ruud's streak came to an end but he's still one of my favourite players. He didn't display his normal firepower, and I give credit to Toure and Campbell, and the rest of the Arsenal defense.
A bit of questioning about the ref's consistency with Djemba and Sol Campbell. I guess the best excuse I can give for no red card for Campbell is that he was kicked in the nuts - so natural reflex to kick him back?
The Keane-Vieira chase was very entertaining too. It was a bit too deadlocked, but still not as bad some of the Italian matches I've seen.Overall an entertaining match and I watched it for free!
Too bad that Arsenal lost. It came as close as 1/2 inch from Lehmann saving Diego Forlan's penalty. I have no idea how Pires' attempt was saved, but I'm not gonna pay $25 now just to figure out how the Gunners lost.![]()

Lehman didnt even move on the Forlan penalty...l what are you talking about? Howard dove to his left and saved a waist high penalty about a foot inside the post for the win.
