Charging 1F capacitor?

Perfect, I'd have it all mounted up and everything first as well, then all you have to do is remove the resistor and you're good to go.

The battery is in the engine bay. The cap will be mounted next to the amp. under the front passenger seat. So then that first wire that I connect to the car battery's positive terminal and then to the 1kOhm resistor will be the 4ga power wire I've routed from the battery to the amp's mounting location. I'll just need a small length of wire to connect the 1kOhm resistor to the capacitor's positive terminal.
