And what does that strike comprise?

* Issue a press release with quotes denouncing discouraging tactics
* Educate local leaders about the issue
* Submit stories about concerns about tactics
* Warn local papers and remind them of their duty to follow necessary steps re: accepting political ads.

Now, where in there does it state file charges, file lawsuits, etc?

It's also given a cover page for Colorado where registration fraud/intimidation tactics have already been reported.

Where did I, or Drudge for that matter, say anything about filing charges and lawsuits?

Okay then, this is a non-issue and the mods should lock this thread.

Ok, my choice of words are wrong but what do you expect would happen in cases of actual voter intimidation, eh?

Still, this is a non-issue. I'd be willing to bet the GOP has something similar and I hope they do. Local leaders need to be keen to lookout for potential fraud.

Funny how that happens. You can bet all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that the democrats have been caught, and the republicans haven't (in this circumstance).

Exactly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with educating your electorate about how to prevent fraud on election day.

I, like Conjur, HOPE that Republicans have the same sort of instructions to prevent such vial things from occurring.

Why would the DNC logo and the Kerry/Edwards logo taking up 2/3s of the page? Don't make me laugh.

Who the hell considers drudge a reliable source anyway?

Fake or not fake isn't really the issue. The content of the memo shows no malice.

i read their little manual, and that is dispicable. It says right in the manual claim voter fraud EVEN IF NONE EXISTS.
No, it doesn't.

1) You're only seeing a portion of that document.
2) It seems to only recommend "pre-emptive" strikes in what would appear to be an effort to prevent improper actions from occurring.

It does not call for lawsuits.

WTF? Who said anything about lawsuits??
Looks like your the one overlooking the wording of the document with Rose colored glasses.

Why wouldn't they approve it? There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

"Democrats are working every day to ensure that every American eligible to vote can vote," said DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera. "For decades, Republicans have engaged in systematic voter suppression and intimidation, from throwing minorities off the voter rolls to ripping up Democratic voter registrations. We make no apologies for fighting these tactics by exposing the dirty tricks when they happen, and helping educate local officials and activists about past Republican tactics so they can prevent them from occurring this year."

Ya, I don't see any criminal intent in the original, I think Drudge decided to make something out of nothing.. again.

Oh noes The DNC is trying to prevent voter intimidation. Can anyone tell me why any group should try and prevent it. Maybe the neo-cons are upset they can't scare more people into voting for them.

Maybe they should send more FBI agents to interview old black Democrats, I'm sure that isn't intimidation.

All I can say this election will be a mess and it will be ugly. Judging from the posts on P&N, where Bush and his supporters are called hitler, I'm a fascist, and Bush and his supporters are racist, homophobic, religious nuts... all the consipracies, hate, paranioa... Bush is evil, every single thing he's ever done is bad, every policy is wrong, the country and world are going to hell.... blah blah blah -and this is just a little sliver of partisan extremism here at a website- it would come as no surprise... in fact I would expect there to be a lot of political BS over the votes and voters.

These people don't seem to understand that words have meaning, and what you say and how you act says a lot. With all the nonsense we see from the party zealots, why wouldn't we expect to see illegal and immoral hijinx from the political hacks that happily say and do anything they can for their man?

Liberals have the superior culture and believe in preemptive attack.

As far as I am concerned there is no proof this document, as cited on drudge, is not a spoof created to bring even more controversy into an already hotly contested election. It is lies like this which tear our country and us as Americans apart. if you want an end to our great Democracy then this is the path to take.

Ofcourse the DNC admits that this field manual exists...but you keep on believing what you wish.

We shall see, the DNC responded very quickly for a non-issue...

Waiting to see if it's picked up by other media, give it 36 hours...
