If a project is never funded to it's goal then your card is never charged. If the project is funded but shit goes wrong afterwards with the seller not coming through with the product, then you are on your own to deal with the seller or use the civil courts.

remember that super party cooler? could have done the same with a standard cooler and a backpack of supplies. that thing ganked millions

Also on topic.

That thing doesn't hold enough coals to cook one steak! I'd rather take a little longer and get a good bed of coals.

I'll have to make a separate thread about the custom grill I got last year. It's a modular system that has a tray for a gas burner & a separate tray above that for either wood or charcoal. You can optionally ignite the coal using a 100k-BTU burner. It's awesome 😀

Ah yes, the Coolest Cooler:

They asked for $50k and got 13 million dollars. They currently sell for $400 a pop via their website:

Sure you could DIY, but the beauty of it is having everything integrated. It has the cooler, rolling wheels, battery system, LED light, bottle opener, Bluetooth speakers, blender, etc...that's a lot of crap to carry around with you, vs. having everything built into a single unit. Downside is the price. I just got a couple rotomolded RTIC coolers (Yeti knockoffs) for just over $99 a pop & they are super awesome for holding ice compared to a standard cooler (although no spiffy features! lol).
