I hear they eat anything.
 
that's actually me, it's an 8 lbs channel cat. most of the catfish caught in california are farm raised so they taste pretty good.

Nice 8lbs, I have no clue what the average size would be, but that looks like it has decent meat on it.
 
nice catch! If I can find it I'll post a pic of the 30" northern pike I caught a few years ago. Never caught any big cats though; they don't exactly thrive around here (central NY)
 
yeah the pay lakes around here (Kentucky) have plenty of 50+ lb cats in them

catching catfish is awesome
