Changing the processor in an HP 530 laptop

Is it possible to replace the single-core Intel(R) Celeron(R) M CPU 530 @ 1.73GHz with a dual-core Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 processor in an HP 530 8HTF12864HDY-667E1 Mobile Intel Calistoga-GME i945GME laptop? I found a used PP33L laptop with a cracked and broken monitor, a damaged motherboard, and a dual-core Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 processor. I have a working HP 530 laptop, but it only has a single-core Intel(R) Celeron(R) M CPU 530 @ 1.73GHz, and I'd like to replace it with a dual-core processor. This laptop originally had 1GB of RAM, so I upgraded it to 4GB. What operating system would be best for this HP 530 laptop?

I don't know the motherboard model from the PP33L laptop because I couldn't boot it up to check in the BIOS or the system.

I wrote down some numbers from the motherboard.

Note that a zero can be an uppercase o and vice versa.

Wow! and to my surprise, the answer is TECHNICALLY yes!

(Gotta admit that the Pentium M processor's are dogs as I have one myself, but I think that you're trying to pee up a rope if performance is your goal.)

There are questions I have about the chipset support for the dual core, but looks like the BIOS certainly would need updating.

Type into Google "Is the Processor removable in an hp 530 laptop" and you should get a good discussion of the related issues along with several Ytube videos illustrating how to perform the requisite surgery.

PS: The OEM OS specified for the 530 was VISTA, but I would think that you should be able to use "7". Check on HP's site to see what OS level HP last provided support for that laptop model.
