Changing port on network printer in WinXP?

I had a laser printer shared using one computer as a print server. Then I got a print server for the laser printer. After installing the software on all the computers I found I could just change the port to the network print server on the Win98se machine but I can't change the port on the same laser printer on the WinXP machine. Under ports for the printer I find a choice of ports and the network print server is there but I can't check it to change to that port for the printer. Question is why? I am logged in as the administrator. Anyone know?

I'm not sure how to change the port, but you might try removing the printer from the xp systems and reinstalling them. This should find the changed settings and get it working.
