We have to change the passwords on around 42 cisco routers. Is there an alternative way to do this without logging into each router seperately? Are there any programs that automate this task?

I'm 99% sure you will have to do this manually on each one! If I'm wrong someone will surely let you know!

Ive been playing around with a program called CatTools made by Kiwi. It has an option to change the password on multiple routers, but I want to be able to change all the passwords.

This is the first time I have had to work with Cisco routers. I think the passwords we need to change are the login, secret password, line con0, line aux0, and line vty 04. I think the CatTools will change the vty/console and secret password.

If this is your first time it may be a good idea to do them all manually that way you get what needs to be done down to a science. Then when you do use a tool you can be sure it works properly.

I just trying to avoid having to do each router manually :D My boss likes the idea of getting it automated so im going to look around to see what I can find.

Someone suggested a program called Mrat, but it looks like a linux only program. Im going to be doing this from an XP Pro computer.
